What should I expect during my initial consultation?
Your journey with us at The Refine Room starts with a comprehensive consultation with us. We discuss your aesthetic goals, review your medical history, and create a bespoke treatment plan tailored to your facial structure and desired results.
Please note, for Anti-Wrinkle treatments an additional consultation with our prescriber is required, as this treatment is prescription only. This usually only takes a couple of minutes.
There is no pressure to proceed with any treatment following consultation. We want to provide & educate you on the best options so you can make an informed decision. We are happy to answer any questions you may have.
Are the treatments painful?
Most patients experience minimal discomfort. Anti-wrinkle injections use very fine needles, and our dermal fillers contain lidocaine—a local anaesthetic—to ensure a comfortable and professional experience throughout. Numbing cream is also available depending on the treatment.
How long do the results typically last?
Longevity varies by treatment and individual lifestyle/metabolism. Anti-wrinkle results usually last between 3–4 months, while dermal fillers can provide enhancement for 6–12 months, or even longer, depending on the area treated and product used. Polynucleotides & Skin Boosters usually last about 6 months following a course of treatments. Lip Boosters last from a couple of weeks to months.
What is the recommended aftercare process?
We always provide detailed aftercare instructions post-treatment. Generally, we advise avoiding strenuous exercise, excessive heat treatments, and alcohol for 24–48 hours to ensure optimal healing and natural-looking results. Avoiding touching your face after treatment is also essential for preventing infection.
How do I know what treatment is best for me?
In your consultation we will discuss your specific areas of concern and advise you on what treatments may address and improve these concerns. A tailored treatment plan will be created specifically for you. If there is a particular area/treatment we cannot provide we will recommend a suitable alternative for this or onward referral.
What are the side effects associated with my treatment?
We will discuss specific side effects for your treatment in your consultation to help you make an informed decision. Common side effects from injectable treatments include: Swelling & bruising at injection sites, pain & tenderness at injection sites. These can take up to 2 weeks to resolve completely.
Can your treatments achieve perfect facial symmetry?
Each patient has natural asymmetry as everyone's anatomy is different - we will of course take this into account and more product may be used on one side for balance - however achieving perfect facial symmetry is not always possible with every treatment.
How long will my treatment take?
Each treatment length varies - Anti-Wrinkle injections take up to 30 minutes, while Dermal Fillers, Polynucleotides & Skin/Lip Boosters can take up to 45-60 minutes depending on the areas being treated.
